Charles Brown fell asleep in the Master's arms on Wednesday, Feb. 19, 2014. Service: 11 a.m. Saturday in the Clarence Jimerson Chapel of Serenity Funerals and Cremations. Interment: 9:30 a.m. Monday in DFW National Cemetery. Charles was born June 3, 1932, and raised in Itasca. He served in the United States Army. He was one of the proud founders of Big Six Domino Club. He worked for Yellow Cab Taxi company for many years and retired as a self-employed taxi driver. He was preceded in death by a daughter, Velma Slater. He leaves to cherish his memories, his devoted wife of 41 years, Oreatha Brown; children, Carla (Kenneth) Hilliard, Betty Merritt, Larry Moore, Rance Brown and Alton Houston; grandchildren, Katrina Hilliard, Deavian Talyor, Darlys Taylor and Steven Merritt; a host of great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
