On December 31, 1984 in Fort Worth, Texas, Darryl J. Jones and Jacqueline Caroline Nelson became the proud parents to Darryl Dewayne Nelson Jr, He was her third of her four sons and was a beloved son, brother, uncle, great uncle, nephew and cousin where received the nickname "DD".
He was always laid back and peaceful. His positive energy was contagious and always had a smile on his face no matter the circumstances he displayed positivity and strength.
Darryl attended Carroll Peak, Morningside and Poly High School where he met lifelong friends. He enjoyed music and all sports basketball being his favorite. Spending time with his family made him happy and in May of last year he accepted Christ as his Lord and Savior.
"DD" spent his later years working at a A&W Energy up until he was laid off due to economic downturn. Shortly after DD’s life changed, he began to fight one of the biggest battles of his life with the help of his girlfriend, Nihcole Collins also a family friend Deidra Hurd Jones and the support of his family.
On February 7, 2026 Darryl Dewayne Nelson, Jr. won the battle and transitioned from this life to a life with no hurt or pain. He was proceeded in death by his mother, Jacqueline Caroline Nelson,; aunts, Jamie, Debra, Brenda Nelson and Latresa Coleman; uncle, Harold Palmer; grandparents, Thois Palmer Jr. Arlee Nelson Palmer and Mary Watkins.
Those left to cherish his memories: aunt, Cynthia Williams and her husband, David; father, Darryl J Jones; brothers, Kevin Nelson(Lorenda), Markee Nelson and Matthew Nelson; special cousin, Tamika Nelson;. uncles, Anthony ,Carlton,Jerome Jones and Ernest Garrett; grandfather, Clarence Jones;. nieces, Jocelyn, Adriana, Keaundra, Kyla, Jayme Kalyn and Reniya; nephews, Kevin, Leroy, Markee, Kyren, Samaje and Jacobie.and a host of beloved relatives and friends.
