Obituary

Eloise Geraldine Miller “Madear” was born to Susie White Allen & John Allen on April 30th,1927,

in New Orleans, Louisiana. She was educated in the New Orleans school system. She

relocated to Houston Texas in August of 2005. Mother accepted Christ at a young age and she

was baptized at 7 years old.

Madear was a member of St. Matthew Baptist church in Houston,Texas under the leadership

of Pastor Leroy Lacy. She was a member of the Order of the Eastern Star and she sang in the

choir at both Second Zion Baptist church & St.Matthew’s Baptist Church. As she was

affectionately Known she loved the Lord. Her favorite songs were “oh by the grace of god, I’m

here”, “I’m Going Up Yonder” & “Precious Lord, Take My Hand”

Madear was a loving wife,sibling,mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, auntie and friend.

She was the Lovely wife of Tommie Miller, She was one of 3 having one brother and one sister

Gladys Perkins and John Mason- Allen.In previous marriage she was blessed with 2 loving girls

Cynthia Reed Tillery(Bertrand Tillery Sr) & Sandra Reed Gibbs (Harry Gibbs). She was blessed


with 7 grandchildren George Reed IV (Dana Walker Reed), Bertrand Tillery Jr (Blanche Rochon-

Tillery), Steven Ramsey, Breagin Riley Martin (Andre Martin), Lauryn Tilley Alvarez (Daniel


Alvarez), Chanell Joseph, and TaWan Reed. She has 8 Great grandchildren Jaylain Jones,

George Reed V, Asia Brown Reed, Celestine Ramsey, Khari Tillery, Marcel Ramsey, Cairo

Martin, & Emery Alvarez. She has 2 great great grandchildren Carlie Starkey & Chloe Starkey.

Madear enjoyed Knitting, word puzzles, bingo, & reading.

Madear was preceded in death by her parents John Allen and Susie White Allen; her husband

Tommie Miller; her siblings, Gladys Perkins and John Mason- Allen; and children, Sandra Reed

Gibbs and George Reed lll.
