FORT WORTH -- Don't grieve for me, for now I'm free, I'm following the path God has laid you see. I took His hand when I heard him call, I turned my back and left it all. Lonnie James Thompson, 85, died Thursday, Feb. 18, 2016. Celebration of life: Noon Friday, Feb. 26, at Zion Rest M.B.C., the Rev. Rufus Huckaby, pastor. Visitation: noon to 7 p.m. Thursday at the funeral home, followed by a wake until 8. Survivors: Loving daughter, Laura D. Harris; devoted grandson, Tarence Thompson; four adorable great-grandchildren; and a host of other loving family members and dear friends.
